Totally obsessed with Pokemon Champions and the new competitive format! I've pretty much imported my Reg H team over from Violet, with some necessary changes with the updated 'mon and item rosters (most notably replacing Bloodmoon Ursaluna with Mega Camerupt) and would love some suggestions on who else to run with this team. I seem to be stuck at Ultra Ball tier 4.
For context, I find myself falling into the trap of always picking the same 4, regardless of what my opponent has – lead with Farigiraf/Incineroar to pull off TR, then proceed to sweep with Archaludon and Pelipper. My oponent has a weather team? No problem. My oponent runs TR? No problem. My oponent DOESN'T run a weather team? Better bring mine! It's a solid 4 and get's around a large chunk of the meta, but It would be great to get some feedback as to what else I can run instead of Sinistcha/Camerupt to make the overall team more versatile. I also have a mega Golurk that could replace Camerupt, with Poltergeist, Dynamic Punch, High Horsepower and Stone Edge, but opted for Camerupt as it's better with TR and means I'm not doubling up on Ghost types with Sinistcha.
I've thought about replacing Sinistcha with Wimsicott to give a bunch of support options, but still not sure who or what I'd pair with and to be honest, I've not given it much thought though and feels like a "good pokemon" more than one that synergises with my team, if that makes sense.
One idea I have is to replace them with Mega Venusaur and Garchomp. I used to run these together back on my OLD VGC team in ORAS with Leech Seed, Sludge Bomb, Giga Drain and Protect on Venusaur, with EV's in SpDef, SpAtk and HP, and Garchomp running Earthquake, Rockslide and Dragon Claw with either Adamant or Jolly nature with maxed Atk and Speed. I'm undecided whether to run a 4th attacking move and pairing it with Choice Scarf (like my old VGC team), or running Swords Dance + Lum Berry. Either way, I'd replace U-Turn with Tailwind on Pelipper, as I think this would pair well with both Garchomp sets. I'm thinking this could give an alternative opening to TR and think both could pair well with the rest of the team, especially Incin and Pelipper.
I would love some feedback on this and can't wait to hear other ideas that any of you might have. I would also love to know if anyone is having success with similar teams.
