Niantic is splitting Mega Energy into separate X and Y versions for Charizard and Mewtwo. This is just a cheap trick to make us buy more raid passes.
Now, the new Super Mega Raids are coming for Mega Mewtwo X and Y at GO Fest 2026. Because of the split, we have to grind completely different raids to get X Energy and Y Energy.

I just started to move into the switch mainline games and now I see, how much this game is ruined… which is a shame, since I love it..
Once I paid 10 euro for some egg incubators, never ever spent more money on it and I never ever will.
Still I have a lot of fun!
Yep, you know they are very mad that the old megas, and especially the primals can be gotten so easily compared to all the new Fusion/Form legendaries. If introduced now all megas would need 5 raids to be able to mega evolve and primals probably 10.
Well damn there goes my plan to save the Lucario mega energy I got from that GO pass a couple months ago to get Mega Lucario Z straight away when it gets released 🤷🏼♂️
They do this because they know they can get away with it because PEOPLE. KEEP. BUYING IT.

Did you see all of the free stuff you’re getting with this pass? This is falling on deaf ears for me, yes they’re splitting up the energy for both, but you’re getting Mewtwo’s that will already have level 1 unlocked. If I’m understanding it correctly, all you need to do is one raid & you’ll have enough to mega evolve. Did you look at everything else coming for free with this event?
Don’t spend money. Exercise patience. You don’t need to do everything right away.

I mean, they’ve not reversed remote passes cost or made it so the raid pass isn’t consumed until the battle is won like mp.
They’ve also upped the constant paid tickets, new low amount is 4.99 and alot of them are ungiftable too.

The problem is that Pokémon is the valuable IP in the world so there’s a baseline constant level of support for the series because it’s just that damned popular. Thus they can get away with all kinds of bullshit because, hey, it’s Pokémon.
Haven’t spend a dime after the new super megas. I knew the direction they were going after asking to mega evolve them last tier for 5k mega energy
Sorry but I hard disagree. Yes they’re enabling the whales but literally all of the content you’re showing here is very accessible for FTP players. The link charges let you do Super Mega raids for completely free, multiple per day. The energy is fully converting to both Charizard energy, so you’re getting your current energy doubled. And the raids are giving you a Mewtwo that already has mega powered up to 1 or higher?
Like you legit could play the event for 30 mins, do a few raids, and be set. I genuinely don’t know what else you want them to do unless you just think they should automatically add shinies to your inventory with free mega energy or it’s a cash grab.
No point playing on Saturday then (I joke but One of the Mewtwo megas is an ugly Duck)
Did anyone confirm during the last mega event that when they say “Only certain gyms” they mean “One out of 3 gyms in L17 cells with 3 gyms in them” i.e. “Screw you rural/semi rural players”

i dont think this is too bad honestly, I see it fair. and man, mewtwos will come with their first mega evo done… you can do one of eac and then walk with them, its pretty f2p available (and you dont even use char x so whatever)

I started playing again a couple of months ago and I still have no idea what mega, dynamax or gigantamax pokemon are – and not really any interest in them.
I just catch, hatch and so some remote raids now and again.
I stopped playing the mainline games after emerald so I didn’t see the mega stuff get introduced but it almost feels as if they’re taking something away with the charizard change. Did you originally have to get separate energies for different forms?

Honestly this should have been split from the beggining… Similarly to mainline games.
Separating the energies is annoying, but at least it sounds like you only need to do one raid to be able to unlock the mega at least.
I was afraid it would be like Necrozma and Kyurem requiring about ten raids each.
This update literally changes nothing, all youll have to do is 3 extra raids lmao especially when charizard x isnt even useful

I just remind myself: Nothing in this game matters. They’re immaterial, cartoon critters. I do not need to participate in any of this. Feeling FOMO over cartoon critters in a mobile game is really silly.
Just don’t bother, if it actually frustrates you. I’m not bothering. I don’t buy tickets or passes. I play at whatever cadence I can earn pokecoins at.
