Surprised they announced this on campfire first before anywhere else

  2. You know, the lack of events over a large period of time is giving me a lot of vibes akin to the time you get just before the EOS announcement of a gacha.

  3. Crabominibble2

I’ll take the Skill route cause those other 2 bonuses suck if you’re not grinding for L80.

Hear me out, for ‘Evergreen Weeks’ they should make it were you can get 100 poke coins per day instead of the usual 50. 😙

“lol what if we don’t make content and just serve them slop. Mega Rayquaza? How about bonus xp for your bidoof catches.”

  6. azure-flute

It’s not a bad idea to fill the gaps, I guess. I like having tasks and to-dos. :p

  7. MattGeddon

Maybe just bring back spotlight hour instead

  8. rebeltoconform

Is this how they’re finally going to bring back a monthly transfer candy bonus?

Doesn’t sound like enough to really get me to play on non-event weeks. If the spawns aren’t interesting then I simply don’t have any motivation to play. It’s even hard some events when the spawns aren’t great. Hopefully the rewards are good

  10. it’s so weird they’re like: events already suck after passes what if there was even less reason to stay engaged.

I’ve barely played since the pass swap, “earn your bonuses to have a reason to play by playing a shitton without them” has flopped completely for me

Better than nothing but still boring with just seasonal spawns to play with.

I like the idea of something else to do because I find the non-event weeks boring, but from what this says it doesn’t really solve the problem. Some extra XP or candy doesn’t really make up for the lack of event Pokemon/boosted shinies or field research to grind, which is the main reason the off weeks are boring.

If they did something like make routes more exciting on a daily basis, similar to how they were during Sustainability week (more spawns, interesting spawns), that would do more to motivate me.

  13. Wouldn’t it be easier to re-run old non important events? It would help new players catch up and old players can just ignore it.

  14. Kinda nice, but XP as a reward isn’t appealing. Walking should lead to hatching more Pokemon and Exploration should lead to finding more items from stops and/or routes.

Actually, if anybody making this game was _actually_ listening: Walking should show you to get 10k eggs that other players cannot, Exploration should allow you to see more routes than other players, and Battling should let you see battles that other players cannot. That’s how you get people to play the game _more_, not _less_.

For anyone wondering about this source, it is from Niantic for CAs to share with their communities. I will confirm as a CA that this is from a Niantic source and that they have approved us sharing this

  16. Siderealdream

Damn they’re cutting everything. Way less events, no more 3 hour lures on comm days, no more spotlight hours, barely any showcases.. not even giving us natures madness on the Tapus from raids anymore

  17. OobeBanoobe

Based on the comments I seem to be in the minority, but fewer events would be good, there’s too many “events” in this game now. I’d love to go back to the earlier days of Pokémon Go in some cases where it felt less like a part-time job.

  18. DwarvenFreeballer

The differences in rewards between these paths will be negligible.

  19. Poisen666

Mhh I appreciate testing new things but: you can do Exploration and Skill unlimited while u can do only 1 free raid a day… quite unbalanced

  20. aBigWeirdPenguin

If the seasonal spawns were better it’d be fine, but even some fully evolved mon I already have like 10 of just isn’t very exciting anymore, even if it’s something like a Tyranitar. At this point I just want more opportunities to catch mons recently introduced in events, like Blipbug, Silicobra and Poltchageist. Be busy for 1 week in your life and now you can’t get a Pokémon till the next year when they arbitrarily decide to include it in an event

  21. KuronixFirhyx

Why they can’t just lengthen any event’s duration?

  22. rilesmcriles

Wow…xp. So fun. Why not make one of the rewards stardust? Or a useful item?

  23. Single-Fill5065

I don’t need XP and candies will only be relevant sometimes. I wish they included stardust rewards, that we always can use more off.

  24. Wow so they really want to dump the game in maintenance mode not even a year after they got full ownership, amazing.
