Would it be safer to use it this way?

I'm new to this whole card collecting thing. I was looking for a binder for myself and found a super cute one and ended up buying it, but later I discovered that it's apparently one of the worst types of binders (the ring binder). I don't think I can cancel the purchase at this point, so I'm wondering how I can use this binder. I heard it leaves pressure marks on the cards, but would that only be on the cards near the rings? If I only use the space outside the reach of the ring, would my cards be safe?
