Well there are a lot of those kind of channels and most of them are just A.I., if im Not mistake.

Shouldn’t have made a Patreon I guess.

So they can attack YouTubers, but they can’t attack the people who make ai art that’s literally Nintendo
OrangeClyde
I liked watching their stuff
YonYonYonYonYon
I saw their channel a while pack and 100% thought it was an official Pokémon thing. Making fanwork is fine, but they leaned heavily into Pokémon with the name and all, and specifically tried to monetize themselves with the brand.

Nintendo caring for their most loving fans

man this company is something else.
Doctor-Grimm
love all the corporate defenders in the comments. This guy was just making something really cool and really impressive within his favourite hobby, and he gets fucking axed by Nintendo just because he dared make money from his passion project. Surely you guys can see that Nintendo is the evil one here, right? Right??

Has anyone backed these up somewhere so people can still watch them?

I think the nuanced take is that we can see why Nintendo would do this, but that if they were _really_ smart then they would hire them and make the content official

It’s because he was trying to make money from it.
I remade Pokemon master trainer and that was the line in the sand.
Man, I have wanted to see these videos for years but kept putting it off! Sounds like the creator was trying to get money though, which is a red line for Nintendo.
However, it is very hard to take this seriously when meanwhile, the US government is using and abusing Nintendo IP and the company won’t lift a finger.

The amount of people defending Nintendo is appalling

I like fan stuff but honestly, if you are this talented, make something original. If you don’t think anyone cares about your stuff because it’s not another brand… then… the company sort of has a point, you’re only profitable because of their IP.
Like, I hate corporate IP law and think it should all go in the bin, like I’d rather this guy be able to do it. But like, making fan-content of this quality of a gigantic IP is actually just feeding the beast that’s biting you. Instead of making original creations that can compete with monolithic corporate “art” you’re just helping hold them up. You can’t really be mad that the gigantic corporation you’re celebrating is being a gigantic corporation.

People saw Nintendo doing that over and over and over and still think it won’t happen to them until it does, then they complain its unfair.
It’ll keep happening until people stop making fan content for money.

Can they strike down one of the AI ones instead

Based! Based! Based! Nintendo really laid the smack down on the grifter!

Hate to defend Nintendo but they’re right, they should have asked Nintendo first, to sell their copyrighted products, maybe Nintendo would have approved and let them sell their stuff with a percentage to the company…
The_CMYK_Avenger
That’s Nintendo for you: burn fan goodwill, hurt independent creators, and make zero more dollars as a result. Bravo! No one wins here, and the unmanned youtube copyright system remains disgusting.

Changes that need to be made to IP law in my opinion:
1. Abolish patents
2. Apply a few changes to trademark law (such as doing away with “intend to use” trademarks)
3. Perform a complete overhaul to copyright law that includes more fair use, due process and gray-hat hacking exemptions

Nintendo could have a lawyer shoot someone in broad daylight and the people in this thread would defend them
