# Introducing LockeBox — a Nuzlocke emulator and run tracker in one

Hey everyone! I've been working on something for a while and finally feel good enough about it to share.

It's called **LockeBox** — an emulator and Nuzlocke tracker built into a single app.

## Why I built it

I'm not 10 years old grinding on my GBA anymore. I'm a full-time employee and, as of this April, a new dad so my Pokémon time has gotten pretty limited. Nuzlockes have been my go-to way to play for years, but life kept forcing me to put runs down for days at a time. Every time I came back I was completely lost.

*What routes did I already catch on? What was I working toward? What's the next level cap?*

I was spending so much time playing catch-up and getting frustrated that I thought, what if the emulator just tracked all of this for me?

## What it does

LockeBox reads data directly from your imported ROM and logs key events as you play. Nothing is hardcoded in the app, it all comes from your ROM. So if you're playing a hack with modified moves or custom gym leader teams, LockeBox picks that up automatically and stores it with your run.

**Features:**

– **Custom emulator** — built-in, no need to bring your own

– **Run dashboard** — see where you left off before jumping back in, with a recent event log

– **Multiple runs** — track several saves for the same ROM independently, all auto-saved

– **Custom rule sets** — set your own rules per run and track adherence as you go

– **In-game HUD** — current party, upcoming level caps, and a route encounter indicator

– **Nuzlocke tools** — damage calculator, IV checker, encounter tables, all pulling from your ROM

## ROM support

Targeting full Gen 1–3 coverage plus popular hacks like Emerald Kaizo, Radical Red, and more. The demo was recorded on my laptop but the full release will be on **Windows, iOS, and Android**.
