    This is a terrible idea. I don’t want to have to raise/lower my phone during a raid.

    Niantic employee: Sir. People aren’t engaging with raids. After months of Tapus/Dogs/Birds, they aren’t invested anymore.

    Niantic Suit: Don’t say nothing more young man! We need to add more fabulous mechanics to catch Articuno!

    Excellent, I’ve been looking for a reason to display my phone to others like a newly born Simba being held into the sky on Pride Rock in the Lion King.

    Perhaps we could all stand in circles and slowly raise our phones in unison whilst chanting?

    Flash back to when Niantic introduced Inkay’s evolution mechanic and all the trainers whose phones didn’t support it 

    Not the kind of thing to test the first time at the biggest event of the 10 year anniversary.

    How will this work when I’m sitting in my car and can only raise my phone less than a foot? BTW, have they ever acknowledged that a lot of people caravan driving from raid to raid while signaling in group chats. As little actual personal interaction as possible.

    People already poke fun at the large groups of Pokemon Go players, we had 100+ trainers at the meetup spot and obviously we draw stares.

    But I *swear to arceus* if they make us all hold out phones in the air at once…

    This feels like something for the big 10,000 people raids they do at the in-person events for a big corporate photo op

    Hopefully it’s just for that and not every Mega Mewtwo raid
