Nice. I have an expensive card coming from them, glad it works

Ebay caught a slab that had a cracked corner, asked me first if I wanted to keep as is or reject. Rejected it for the refund.

I don’t like ebay, but big props to their authentication process.

    Mind giving a little context?

Aready on the expensive side no? I bought a PSA 10 for about 650 usd.

Yeah they rejected a moonbreon I ordered last year. The photos looked good so it was either a really good fake or they sent something else. The sellers account was also deleted afterwards.

Today I learned if someone mails a counterfeit item and you report it most of the time you don’t even have to mail it back and eBay will refund you. They will just make you sign a declaration that you won’t resell the item.

  7. I’ve bought plenty of expensive cards on eBay and they *always* come through for me. They even message me when a card has a bit of damage that wasn’t clearly presented in the photos.

Ebay catches a lot a crap but I think they’re trying to turn it around. I recently sold a $50 card that got lost in the mail. I issued a refund fully expecting to just eat the loss. To my surprise, they noticed and gave me the money anyway. And the buyer was still happy enough to give me a positive feedback.

Sorry to hear that! At least they caught the fake! I bought 10 JP mega zards sar inferno X at $500 average! Now theyre skyrocketing!! It’s so crazy. I hope you find one!!!

Ebay is plagued with this issue i think the sellers with history are sprinkling in fakes every once in a while. It happened to me with a first gen charizard and now a Luffy card from One Piece

Wait so how does the PSA authenticity thing work? Does the seller have to send it through them first or do you have to submit it after receiving if it’s suspected fake?

I’ve been impressed with eBay-PSA partnership and hope they’re still keeping up with the quality of authentication (which is PSA responsibility).

When they first added the authentication I had a card rejected because it didn’t show a crease clearly enough in the photos. The description said “crease damage” but the photos were not as easy to tell. So I was surprised to see it not pass but that’s great from their angle – fewer returns and more safety when buying

Plot twist, they kept it to sell for themselves

Authenticity guarantee on eBay is such a life saver for both the buyer and seller

Im thinking of selling mine. I want the shinjiw magikarp

Better to cancel than take your money and the item shows up fake or not at all I suppose. eBay burned me pretty bad

Buddy of mine had alt art Dragonite from ES Get rejected this way, good sign

Awesome! got the exact same thing for a card that I bought from SNKRDUNK a couple of weeks back! Card was deemed altered and I got my money back! So happy I chose an authenticity guarantee venue. That said for some reason people were just angry in the comments when I posted this haha. Guess they were insulted someone didn’t get scammed.

I recently got one of these surprise refund messages after ordering a chinese bubble mew shiny that was “graded with authenticity guaranteed” that I won in an auction the other month. *Stay away from those chinese seller bubble mews!* Some here me private messaged me that theres fake replica graded one all over aliexpress 🥲 While I’m still after my bubble mew card (I remember when this card was only $50 in japanese from ebay before prismatic came out… I should have grabbed one) at least I got a refund from ebay! What sucks is the seller had photos of the real authentic cards and had photos of having a tidal wave of the real deal but other buyers were reporting getting fake cards and their shop got taken down.

Ebay also refunded me for a booster box of Gem 3, seller is from the US but sent me ONE pack and I reported the seller since they listed it was a booster box with the sealed booster box photo. Seller refused to respond to my messages, so I got refund and their store is gone. Customer service has been good.

I just had a seller who relisted an item after I bought it as an buy it now listing, saying he is refusing to send it even though my payment has already cleared. Pretty bullshit

I’ve noticed that they are taking the authenticity guarantee much more seriously lately. I’ve ordered roughly 30 cards ungraded from eBay in the past year. In the last 2 months or so I’ve now had 3 of these instances where they say the card is in worse condition than what was listed on eBay. They offer a discount (I’ve declined all 3 because they only offered like a $15 discount on >$300 cards).

At least eBay saved you from a fake or damaged one. Sucks about the price though. The right one will show up eventually.
