I fought the Team GO Rocket grunts with Mimikyu before, but when I tried to battle another one, it got removed from my team for the battle.

When my Mimikyu doesn't appear for a team rocket leader, I back out of the battle and try again then I usually get Mimikyu to appear. I think once or twice it didn't work

Yeah I just popped it in every rocket battle and eventually it always showed up in my recommended team. I’m always working on 3 at once, so I feed them, play, pic, rocket in/out dip.

The internet says Mimikyu is currently banned in Go Battle League, and has been removed from Team Rocket because the Disguise ability works as an automatic shield, but it's bugged, and could cause problems with the game so they temporarily banned it.
