Hey y’all listen I can’t respond to comments on my last post so I’ll just say it here. I didn’t know about any ai thing with faces on Reddit, so thanks. I would have taken my previous post down way sooner but usually 2 people see my posts and move on, so I had gone back to working and hadn’t checked my phone. I was genuinely just trying to bring some positivity to the community sharing about a kid actually getting to enjoy opening an otherwise scalped set cuz I feel like people have been disheartened lately. I thought her hair and hand obscured her face enough to not fall into the “you’re using your kid for internet points” category (because I don’t need Reddit points. Im not desperate. Just trying to be genuine on a place that hates or is suspicious of that, I guess). And I wasn’t even thinking about creeps. I don’t know why. My mistake, obviously. A miscalculation from intent to delivery. I just assume everyone on here is like me and just happy to share about Pokemon cards, many probably parents themselves. To the commenter who called me an idiot, I guess in this moment I was. (But you didn’t have to be an ass about it. Or yell at me in all caps, damn).
Also, I will say I realize now that my joke about her being high, out of context, looked bad. I didn’t see it because 1) she was definitely loopy after the laughing gas, and they warned me she might be, so I took it as that was what’s up, and it was silly/funny 2) I have actually never been high in my life so it takes very little change in a person affected by a drug for me to consider it “high”, which in retrospect was also inaccurate 3) kite rhymed with dragonite and that was silly/funny because I had the context…but combined with everything else, yeah, not funny outside like my family and definitely doesn’t land. Oof.
I appreciate those of you coming from a caring place who commented. I acknowledge my mistake and will do better to think thru how others might see a post before I post it. Thanks.
To those of you who were mean…I hope you get the exact same energy back to you on a random day when you’re having an actually pretty good day in this dumpster fire of a planet and it takes the wind out of your sails for the rest of the day. You can be kind and still tell people they messed up!
