Regional Bonsly and Canopour

Bonsly – The Sprinkler Pokémon

Type: Water

Inspiration:

Regional Bonsly is based on a rotating garden sprinkler and inspired by the Samanea saman tree, also known as the monkeypod tree or rain tree.

Pokédex Entry:

"Unlike the Sinnohian Bonsly, who expels water by crying to keep its body dry, this regional form embraces moisture and appears happiest during rainy weather. It stores rainwater in its body and its branches, then it spins the branches and scatters water in wide circles. Because of this, Regional Bonsly is often found near gardens, parks and farms."

Canopour – The Rain Tree Pokémon

Type: Water

Inspiration:

Canopour is based on the monkeypod tree, also known as the rain tree (Samanea saman), a rain cloud and a lawn sprinkler. Its connection to rainfall is emphasized through the “rain tree” name.

Pokédex Entry:

"Canopour is highly attracted to rainy weather. During storms, it moves into open areas and spreads its broad canopy to absorb rainfall. The water is stored in sponge-like tissue throughout its canopy, arms, and hands, then released through the many openings along its limbs when its body becomes full. Gentle by nature, Canopour is often found in parks, gardens, and farms, where it helps keep the soil moist. After a storm, it may spend hours watering the surrounding area with a slow, steady shower, drawing many Pokémon to rest and refresh."
