Are they finally making a Direct

They’ll probably show off Star Fox, Pokopia, Mario Kart World and Splatoon Raiders.

Ocarina of Time remake demo would be the ultimate marketing tool

Sick theyre going to announce one switch 2 game and a Famicom toaster or something and be like hey the switch 2 pro is coming for the new FF online
NIDORAX
Maybe they might tease some previews of the rumoured remake of Ocarina of Time or show the upcoming Pokemon Winds and Waves? Im just speculating.

JoyconDrift_69
I think I can interpret this as a direct to be near likely if not almost guaranteed by late August
MarcsterS
Wouldn’t expect any actual announcements. Just demos of upcoming games
Perhaps, a few games that were announced a few months prior to August…
Poopoodemons
not news they’re always there. let me know when they go to TGS

I doubt that they are going to make any new game announcements there, BUT they will clearly announce their slate of new games between now and then. We almost always have a June Direct, with the only exceptions being last year (because the Switch launched in June and we had the big Direct for that in April) and 2020 which was COVID where production delays left Nintendo without much to show, so they only did game specific announcements then.
We have our summer game lineup now, but admittedly all the games announced are for a fairly niche audience. Yoshi and the Mysterious Book is a Mario spinoff that I don’t see selling more than 3 million units, and even hitting 2 million would be generous for that game. Splatoon is popular, but since it’s Splatoon’s first spinoff game it’s hard to see if it will neccesarily have appeal to people who want a single player focused game. Rhythm Heaven Groove is also a niche sub series that likely has a low budget and I don’t think rhythm games are all the rage right now. And while Star Fox got a boost in brand awareness because of the Mario Galaxy movie, I think being another remake of Star Fox 64 is probably going to kill a lot of hype surrounding it.
