A new Mario Kart World datamine may have led to the discovery of several cut characters, including the likes of Chain Chomp, Blooper, Ninji.
Fans have been datamining various Nintendo Switch 2 games over the past few days, and Mario Kart World is the latest to receive this treatment. After combing through the files, a number of interesting names have surfaced.
Rimea shared the discovery on social media, as first found by MondoMega. The following drivers are in a file that relates to the character weight stats:

In addition to the above, Spiny, who is known as Togezo in Japanese, is said to be listed as a driver in several files.
Note that there have been various fake datamines for Mario Kart World recently. That said, this discovery appears to be legitimate.
Mario Kart World does have a large roster – it’s one of the biggest in series history. That said, for whatever reason, Nintendo apparently decided against having the characters listed above on the roster.
Producer Kosuke Yabuki previously explained why non-Mario characters aren’t included in Mario Kart World.
Mario Kart World is available on Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide, and you can read about the latest major update for the racer.
