A Pokémon card collection worth more than $30,000 and a land surveyor kit are among items seized following the arrest of a patched Head Hunters gang member for their alleged involvement in illegal activity in West Auckland.

Police, with assistance from the armed offenders squad and the specialist search group, descended on a property on Tuck Nathan Dr in Glen Eden early on Wednesday morning, Detective Senior Sergeant Josh Lautogo said.

“A male at the address was arrested and during the search warrant officers seized a range of property,” Lautogo said.

The items seized included a loaded firearm; $50,000 in cash; a Pokémon card collection valued at approximately $30,000; several high-value vehicles, including a stolen Mercedes Benz valued at $20,000; an allegedly stolen land surveyor kit valued at $25,000; and one ounce of methamphetamine.

Enquiries into the origins of the stolen items were continuing, he said.

“Police will continue to disrupt these criminal networks and target those who seek to profit off the harm they cause,” Lautogo said.

A 32-year-old man was due to appear in the Waitākere District Court today charged with possession for supply of methamphetamine and unlawful possession of a pistol.
