In order to understand which Pokemon will likely be best in PvP, you must first understand their stat advantages. To most players detriment, CP is a relatively inaccurate measure of a Pokemon’s true combat power. In this video I take you through the inherent issues with how CP is calculated, how this issue is exaggerated in the Great and Ultra Leagues for Pokemon GO, and how CP could be changed to be more fair. Aside from changing CP, this video will help you understand which Pokemon truly have the advantage in each PvP League. It may surprise you to learn that Mewtwo may not be the Master League King!
Now of course, PvP isn’t out yet. The reason why our analysis’s on the meta can’t extent beyond stats and type coverage is because it is apparent that charge moves are changing for PvP. Not only do we have the “tap for 20%” bonus and shields, but the energy cost and base damage have apparently been altered too. In and of this, it is important to keep these stat advantage Pokemon in mind when looking at IVs and Lucky Trades, BUT SAVE YOUR STARDUST FOR WHEN WE HAVE ALL THE INFO. I’d hate for people to max out a Registeel and then have it be bad.
